Commenting on the announcement of the consultation, Asheem Singh, Director of Public Policy said:
“We welcome the Cabinet Office’s announcement of the new £40 million fund for Community Recovery and Sustainability Fund. This will be vital funding for community organisations still recovering from years of cutbacks.
ACEVO proposed a Community Recovery and Sustainability Fund in our 2014 submission to the budget. The fact that the Cabinet Office have acted along these lines shows that they are listening to the needs of community organisations.
“At ACEVO we have been consulting on the fund’s structure with our members, and we’ll continue to work closely with them and with the Cabinet Office as the plans take shape. We look forward to working with them on this important project, and making sure charities and social enterprises are able to play their full part in our national recovery.”
