If you are an avid reader of the ACEVO blog, you might have noticed that in July we started to offer a narrated version of all blogposts. The ACEVO staff will be narrating most of them, but guest contributors are also invited to lend their voices to their blogs. We are committed to making the website more accessible, so if you have any suggestions, do leave a comment!

For those of you who are worried about ensuring your organisation is fundable in the Covid-19 recovery phase, our partner KEDA Consulting has written a member briefing suggesting five questions you should ask that will help you prepare for funding applications.

Support for you

ACEVO’s partner Hempsons, the charity and social enterprise law firm, is offering free 40-minute surgeries run by members of its charities team to help you understand how to navigate the tricky legal and strategic issues involved in a merger or collaboration. You can book a session for either August or September, please check this page.

ProVantage Procurement also has a special offer to our members: a free review of your organisation’s spend profile, aiming to control costs better during the upcoming recession – including payment terms, reduced invoicing, reduced risk and exposure, ensuring better compliance, better supplier management and all day-to-day costs. To book your review, please complete this short questionnaire

If you are considering getting a coach, we have partnered with The Growing Coaches, a platform that connects leaders with coaches from the UK’s leading coach training programmes. As an ACEVO member, you can access up to six 90-minute tailor-made coaching sessions by creating a profile and finding a suitable coach. Please check this page for further details, including how to access the service and questions to consider before using a coach.

Finally, don’t forget about our Talk to us service: an opportunity for you to book a call with our experienced member support team. This is a chance to check-in, focus on your own wellbeing, and talk through any challenges you are facing.

Announced new events and opportunities

From 16 – 20 November 2020 we will be hosting #ACEVOFest, a week-long digital event, bringing together social sector leaders to reflect, reboot and rebuild. Charity leaders will be able to connect with peers to discuss a variety of topics, including collaboration, governance, diversity and inclusion, income generation, trust and transparency and much more – all underpinned by ACEVO’s focus on leadership.

Book now – full programme will be announced in September

We have also launched a brand new training programme for experienced CEOs: Next Step Leadership. Designed and delivered in collaboration with the Social Enterprise Academy, the programme builds on our six leadership competencies and uses an interactive approach to enable you to work with peers and learn from each other. During 10 days spread between December 2020 and April 2021, you will engage with different theories and leadership themes for a powerful transformational experience.

Dynamic Duo – our training aimed at both CEOs and chairs – is back. We recently announced the new format (digital) and date, and we particularly recommend you come as a pair. For more information and to book your place (also open to non-members), please check this page.
