ICYMI: March 2022

In case you missed it is a monthly round-up of what we have been up to at ACEVO. Communications officer Heloisa Righetto shares links to recently published content, newly launched events and services available to members.

Announced new events

We’re holding our first face-to-face member networking event since the start of the pandemic on 26 April in London. This will be a great chance to get together with each other, and it’s also Vicky Browning’s last face-to-face member meeting before she leaves ACEVO at the end of May. Book your place.

ACEVO and the Association of Chair’s Dynamic Duo workshop is back as a face to face meeting on 28 June. The full-day training session is aimed at charity CEOs and chairs and explores how to balance the roles and bring out the best in each other by looking at the CEO/chair relationship from both perspectives. For more details, pricing and to book your place, please check the website

Join ACEVO’s head of member support Tom Andrews on 29 April from 4pm for the first Friday Review of the year. This informal gathering of CEOs is a space to pause, reflect and connect. Book your place now

ACEVO’s inspiring annual conference #ACEVOFest will be back in a new hybrid format later this year. We’ve taken your feedback on board to ensure our leadership festival better meets the needs of busy members: join us for three days – spread over two weeks – of talks, workshops, advice and networking. On day one, Tuesday 20 September, you will have the choice to attend either in person or online and then continue the experience digitally on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 September.

News from ACEVO

Last month, we welcomed two new partners to ACEVO’s community of trusted suppliers, Flair and NHS Open Space. Flair is a racial equity technology company that helps organisations foster anti-racist cultures where all ethnicities can thrive, and NHS Open Space offers flexible, national access to over 1,100 bookable clinical and non-clinical rooms across 190 high-quality healthcare buildings. Visit their pages on the website to find out more about how you and your organisation can benefit from these new partnerships.

Leadership Worth Sharing is back, and in this year’s first episode ACEVO’s head of influencing Alan Lally-Francis chats to Sarah Atkinson, chief executive of the Social Mobility Foundation. They talk about the work the organisation does to support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in their professional journeys, the importance of charities participating in the Social Mobility Index, class, and why being a mentor can help us become better leaders.
