New guidance on the right to carer’s leave
Acas has issued new guidance on the right to carer’s leave which has provided clarity about the notice provisions. Anyone who is legally classed as an employee can take time off to help a dependant who needs long-term care. The law is the Carer’s Leave Act 2023. It came into effect on 6 April 2024.

The Institute for Voluntary Action Research (IVAR) has published a new report: Mapping organisational journeys: Power of Youth Charter, produced in partnership with UK Youth and Volunteering Matters.
We all have a part to play in empowering young people, and this report gives you – no matter where you are in your youth engagement journey – the tools, tips and experiences to help make that difference. The report looks at the journey of different organisations as they implement the Power of Youth Charter in their commitment to support and meaningfully engage young people to lead positive change.
