Ali Goldsworthy is the CEO of The Depolarization Project. At #ACEVOFest, she will talk about the challenges and opportunities of polarisation, and the role of civil society leaders in building shared understanding and helping to knit our fractured society back together.
How would you describe your time working from home because of lockdown in 5 words?
An absolute rollercoaster. With Wildfires.
What was the best thing you did for your own well-being in the past few months?
I was very lucky and my gym lent me weights to use. Managing to work out most days, and looking to increase the amount that I lifted gave me some measurable progress that I could control.
What’s the best advice you’ve been given?
It was from my old coach. The marvellous Ed Batista. No one should get more power over how you feel and behave than you do.
What was your favourite digital discovery this year?
We were already a team of remote workers which meant our processes were fairly established and we used G Suite by default. In terms of new discoveries, Lucidchart in lieu of having a giant whiteboard has been really helpful at times.
If you had to leave a message to yourself to read a year from now, what would it be?
You’ve launched a book, responded to a presidential election and birthed a human. Cut yourself some slack and get some sleep.
