Eli Manderson Evans is a senior social justice consultant at Ten Years’ Time. At #ACEVOFest, he will talk about the social sector’s role in ensuring climate equity for future generations, how to amplify the connections between your cause and climate justice, and having these conversations with hope and positivity.
How would you describe your time working from home because of lockdown in 5 words?
Challenging, Tetris-like (the nature of living in a houseshare with limited desk space/space), distracting, more time in bed, decadent lunches. Sorry, this is more than 5 words!
What was the best thing you did for your own well-being in the past few months?
I booked a holiday and reduced the number of volunteer positions I hold – I’m tired. Oh and got into the amazing fantasy novel ‘Children of Blood and Bone’ by Tomi Adeyemi, the best escape from lockdown!
What’s the best advice you’ve been given?
You are not a tree, if you don’t like where you are move, and drink lots of water.
What was your favourite digital discovery this year?
Youtube yoga, I may have only done this a couple of times throughout lockdown but it was great. I am still living off the endorphins!
If you had to leave a message to yourself to read a year from now, what would it be?
Don’t worry you have got this and then probably something about telling myself to reduce the amount of time I spend reading the news and to really really appreciate the time you have outside of your house!
