#ACEVOFest21 speakers: David Saint

ACEVO’s digital leadership festival is back this year from 2-4 November. The full programme is available on the website and in this blog series, you will get to know our speakers a little bit better.

A narrated version of this blog is available at the bottom of the page

David Saint, founder, Action Planning

At #ACEVOFest21, David will set out clear and pragmatic building blocks for a fundraising strategy, illustrate the key underlying principles, and give you the ‘killer questions’ to ask your fundraisers.

What makes you hopeful?

My Christian faith; and the goodness I see in so many people – in our sector and beyond.

What do you know now that you didn’t know at the beginning of 2020?

That it’s possible to vastly increase productivity through Zoom, rather than physical meetings. But also that there is a lot of benefit in physical meetings that we took for granted, until we couldn’t have them.

What message you’d like to send to yourself to read a year from now?

Were all those things on your To Do list quite as important as they seemed at the time?

Can you recommend: a book, a series/film, a podcast?

I don’t think anything has ever topped Dad’s Army.

Did you incorporate a new habit in your day to day routine in the past 18 months that you can share with us?

Getting on the exercise bike if I haven’t done enough steps – I have a (quite low) target, and I don’t let myself go to bed until I’ve hit it – every day.

What do you miss the most from working at the office and what you love the most from working remotely?

I miss the friendly interaction with colleagues; I love being able to cram so much more into every day.

What’s your favourite thing to do for your own wellbeing?

Gardening and DIY (which I do for fun, and therefore for my wellbeing, rather than the other way round).
