The 2021 edition of the Pay and Equalities Survey is now live. This year’s survey attracted 1080 respondents, the largest sample size since the survey began. The Pay & Equalities Survey continues to be a reliable snapshot of CEO pay, working conditions and representation across UK charities, as well as a useful benchmarking tool for salaries. The report costs £48 for ACEVO members, and £65 for non-member charities.

The Leadership Worth Sharing podcast is back, and in this episode Vicky talks to Michelle Mitchell, CEO of Cancer Research UK. They talk about how the pandemic changed the way we make decisions, how we can now start to think about the future beyond Covid-19, and what leaders and Olympic athletes have in common. This and all previous episodes (and transcripts) are available on the website and in all major podcast providers.

ACEVO’s climate emergency committee is gathering a series of case studies highlighting positive climate leadership shown in charities, both environmental and non-environmental. We hope this will provide a range of ideas about how organisations can approach different types of climate action and play their part in a just transition to net-zero. If you’d like to share what you have been doing at your organisation – no action is too small – please submit your story

Announced new events

Following up on her two recent blogs about diversity in the sector, Nazreen Visram, head of charities at Barclays, will host a webinar for ACEVO members on 13 October to offer an overview of the critical components of EDI and some practical steps on embedding it in your organisation. ACEVO CEO Vicky Browning will also be joining the session alongside Ray Dempsey, Barclays’ group chief diversity officer, and Kai Adams, managing partner at Green Park. Book now

Resilience is not simply an individual responsibility or quality; it needs to be built within an organisation. In this one-day online workshop on 7 December, we will reflect on resilience at the organisational level,  learn more about what it is and is not, what helps cultivate collective resilience and what blocks, threatens or gets in the way of it. The session will equip you with practices, questions for further inquiry and a clear plan of action for you as leaders and for your organisation. For more info, please check the website
