Commenting on Home Secretary Theresa May’s speech to Conservative Conference and her words on the Charity Commission, Sir Stephen Bubb, CEO of ACEVO said:
“The answer to defeating extremist ideology is to work with the vast majority of Islamic charities who do such great work for their communities
“It is by working with these organisations and helping to build their leadership that we can prevent the radicalisation of young British Muslims.
“The Charity Commission must not let their new powers go to their head. They must ensure a fair and balanced approach on what is a very sensitive issue.”
