ACEVO launches its first-ever Climate Week, taking place 9-13 September 2024

The Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (ACEVO) is excited to announce its inaugural Climate Week, taking place from 9-13 September 2024. This event aims to galvanize civil society leaders around the pressing issues of climate change and environmental sustainability.

Throughout the week, ACEVO will host a series of online events, publish content, and encourage civil society leaders to share their challenges and experiences with integrating climate action into their work. Highlights include a digital meeting open to anyone, not just ACEVO members, asking the question ‘can civil society afford to care about climate change?’, and a special podcast episode on the intersection of climate and social justice.

Civil society leaders are invited to participate in discussions and share their experiences through a form. The form is already available, and open to anyone in this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZRCRYB5. ACEVO encourages chief executives, chairs, trustees and senior leaders of charities to contribute. The anonymised answers will be featured in a blog on ACEVO’s website wrapping up the week on 13 September.

ACEVO invites all civil society leaders to join the conversation, whether they are at the beginning of their climate journey or further along. This initiative underscores the critical role that the sector plays in driving climate and environmental action.
