Digital member meetings

Virtually meet peers from across the country to exchange ideas, issues, challenges and experiences.

These events will be run as a Zoom meeting with cameras and microphones on. They are not recorded.

Safe space for members in the aftermath of August's racist attacks

Monday 16 September, 15:00 – 16:15

Join us for a reflective meeting among your peers, who are facing challenges, professionally and personally. The session will be structured as a safe virtual circle, so you can share concerns and experiences, as well as hearing from other ACEVO members. Everyone will have time to speak.

Shared space for global majority leaders

Monday 23 September, 14:00 – 15:30

We invite leaders within our membership who self-identify as being from global majority backgrounds to join for an initial session of sharing and listening. Through this session, we hope to create a space of belonging, community and solidarity amongst peers. 

Tuesday 24 September, 10:30 – 11:30

In this session, we dive into and demystify the issue of intersectionality – where overlapping identities, such as ‘race’, gender and class, combine to affect people’s experiences of disadvantage and privilege.

Thursday 26 September, 11:00 – 12:00

Elizabeth Anderson, CEO of Digital Poverty Alliance will explore how your organisation can begin to take action, raise awareness and provide support for those who are excluded through affordability, lack of skills or concerns about online safety and trust.

Wednesday 2 October, 11:00 – 12:30

An opportunity for the ACEVO team to welcome you to our community of leaders, and for you to meet other new ACEVO members and learn how we can support you and how you can make the most of our network.

Tuesday 8 October, 11:00 – 12:00

This session, led by Daisy Srblin and Beki Osborne, aims to explore the lived experiences of a group of younger leaders in civil society. Daisy and Beki will share the findings of their conversations with other young leaders and their respective leadership journeys to this point.

Thursday 10 October, 11:00 – 12:00

A quarterly check-in for members to reflect on the past three months and to plan for the next three months. A safe space for leaders to reflect on their experiences and learning, and to think through priorities and how they want to approach the next quarter.

Tuesday 15 October, 11:00 – 12:00

In stable times, our values work unconsciously. But in uncertainty or ambiguity, consciously connecting to our values significantly enhances well-being, buffers against stress, and aids faster recovery from setbacks. Invest 60 minutes in this session and join the minority who benefit from a clear understanding of what truly matters, both in and out of work.

Tuesday 31 October, 14:00 – 15:00

This session will address the particular challenges and opportunities in fundraising for faith-based organisations and the role of the leader in addressing them. Beyond overseeing the fundraising function, how can civil society leaders build effective philanthropic relationships with donors and institutions within their faith? 

New CEO meeting

Thursday 14 November, 14:00 – 15:15

This is an opportunity for CEOs and leaders who have been in their roles less than a year, to connect and learn from one another in an informal setting. The gathering will feature a guest CEO reflecting on their experiences of being a new CEO, breakout discussions and a time to reflect with the wider group.

Implementing a four-day work week: practical workshop for leaders

Tuesday 19 November, 11:00 – 12:00

ACEVO’s event on the four-day work week in May showed the scale of interest members have in this subject, but also highlighted a range of practical questions leaders had over moving towards implementation in their organisation. This session will provide answers rooted in evidence from organisations the Four Day Week Campaign works with.

Tuesday 26 November, 14:00 – 15:00

This is a workshop for ambitious leaders in need of inspiration and a renewed sense of possibility, who are currently feeling stuck and overwhelmed by challenges inherent in uncertain times, and with increasingly tired, disconnected and stagnant teams.

Spot the red flag

Tuesday 10 December, 14:00 – 15:15

Something doesn’t seem quite right, but you can’t quite pinpoint what it is. Whether it’s your relationship with your chair, the board, or your colleagues, something feels off. But with a packed schedule, there’s no time to pause and reflect. This meeting provides the perfect opportunity to hit the pause button, focus, and evaluate your situation.

Climate crisis member meeting

Wednesday 29 January, 14:00 – 15:00

Gill Perkins, CEO of the Bumblebee Conservation Trust will talk about her experience in leading the Trust, and share her insights around being part of Rethink Nature. Gill will talk about how it was developed, its role in catalysing action across the UK, and how the partner organisations work in coalition to increase impact and aid organisational sustainability.
